Det høyt påventede Extended Edition (Blu-ray)-settet utgis med engelsk 6.1 DTS-HD MA audio og inneholder en ny transfer av The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring remastret fra de opprinnelige 2k digitalfilene. Settet skilter med over 26 timer ekstramateriale, og toppes med de sjeldne bakom-dokumentarene laget av Costa Botes, filmskaperen som fikk enestående tilgang av Peter Jackson til settet på hver av produksjonene. Costa Botes var i stand til å fange gripende filmopptak fra bak kulissene. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
I denne første delen av trilogien arver den unge hobbiten Frodo Baggins en ring; men ringen er ingen vanlig pyntegjenstand. Det er Den Ene Ringen, et fullkomment maktens våpen som vil kunne tillate Sauron, Mørkets Herre i Mordor, å herske over Midgard og slavebinde dets folkeslag. Sammen med et Brorskap bestående av hans lojale hobbitvenner, mennesker, en trollmann, en dverg og en alv, må Frodo bære Den Ene Ringen gjennom Midgard til Dommedagsfjellet, der den ble smidd, og ødelegge den for alltid. Slik en reise fordrer å våge seg dypt inn i områder kontrollert av Sauron, der han samler sin hær av orker. Fantastisk samling! Boksen er stødig og filmane er fortsatt gjevande, sjølv etter nesten to tiår! Rådar dykk til å få med denne skatten.
Var denne anmeldelsen nyttig?Fantastisk trilogi med masse ekstrascener som ikke var med i kinoversjonen! Den eneste kritikken jeg har å komme med er den norske teksten til Ringens Brorskap (om det bare er meg som har dette "problemet" eller ikke, er ikke sikkert):
Enkelte navn og uttrykk har beholdt den engelske betydningen istedenfor å oversette dem til norsk (f.eks: Prancing Pony istedenfor Steilende Ponni, Isengard istedenfor Jarnagard, ranger istedenfor ferdamann osv.) Ikke engang "Ringenes Herre" og Ringens brorskap" dukker opp når titlene kommer på skjermen.
På disk to var det det samme, i tillegg til at andre tekster dukket opp istedenfor det som ble sagt. Et godt eksempel på dette er når Galadriel viser fram ringen hennes til Frodo: Når hun forteller hva den heter og at hun er dens bærer, kommer ikke oversettelsen av dette, men istedet dukker teksten til det øyeblikket der Boromir prøver å ta ringen fra Frodo opp (som også dukker opp der den egentlig skal senere). Et annet eksempel er når Frodo og Gandalv snakker sammen før de kommer til Morias porter: Når Gandalv advarer Frodo om at ondskap vil nå dem fra utsiden, kommer det opp "Hva er det alviske ordet for venn?" istedenfor den norske oversettelsen. Dette skjer kanskje ti ganger under den andre delen av filmen, og de to andre filmene har ikke disse merkelige feilene og bruker de norske oversettelsene. Dette er ikke på grunn av spilleren, jeg har sett den på vanlig blu-ray spiller og på Playstation.
