From very different backgrounds, the students all have their reasons for needing that elusive 'perfect score'. Kyle (Chris Evans) has his heart set on architecture school, but his score is too low to get in. Matty (Bryan Greenberg) is desperate to make it into the same school as his girlfriend. Anna (Erika Christensen) is a good girl who normally overachieves, but failed the test after losing her nerve. Desmond (Darius Miles), the best basketball player in the school, wants to get into a good college - but he thinks the SAT is racist. Ray (Leonardo Nam) is an outcast stoner who is reluctantly brought into the group after he overhears Kyle and Matty discussing their plans in the school toilets. And Francesca (Johansson) is a hip teen rebel - whose father just happens to work in the building where the SAT questions are kept under lock and key. But as the gang plot their heist in meticulous detail and see it come to fruition, they realise that a perfect score does not guarantee happiness.
