Thriller which follows the life of death-row inmate Lee Ray Oliver (Ray Liotta). After he is pronounced dead by the prison doctor after seemingly receiving a lethal injection, he wakes up stunned and confused to the news that he has been given a second chance at life on the one condition: that he take part in a secret experimental treatment designed by scientist Dr. Miles Copeland (Willem Dafoe) to cure him of his criminal instinct once and for all.
