Castlevania, Lords of Shadow takes place at the end of days. Earths alliance with the heavens is threatened by a dark and evil force: the mysterious Lords of Shadow. Darkness rules the world. In this desecrated land, the souls of the dead roam without being able to find peace, and evil beings roam free, spreading chaos and death among the living.

Gabriel is a member of the Brotherhood of Light, an elite group of holy knights who protect and defend the innocent against the supernatural. His beloved wife has been brutally murdered by the evil dark forces and her soul has been captured forever. She is neither alive nor dead and is aware of the horrific truth of what is at stake. She is leading Gabriel to his destiny and hopefully the salvation of the world ... but at what cost?
