The Rum Diary (Blu-ray)

The restless New York journalist Paul gets tired of the big city and goes to the Caribbean where he lands a job at a newspaper editorial office fighting for his survival in Puerto Rico. Unpredictable colleagues and a hostile local population soon become his everyday life, as well as long wet nights at the countless bars. One night, Paul meets Chenault and becomes obsessed with the beautiful woman, who turns out to be engaged to the corrupt businessman Sanderson. Sanderson realises that he can benefit from Paul by paying him to write favourably about one of his obscure projects – building luxury hotels on a pristine island off the coast. As Paul gets more and more reasons to meet Chenault, he is faced with a crossroads: should he support Sanderson's dubious projects or reveal what he knows to bust him?
